The author tells his story with such transparency and emotion that you don't want to put it down. It depicts the most incredible love story man has ever encountered and that is God's love for mankind. Rahiem not only captures God's love for us but through the pages of the book we see the transforming power of that love.Whether you have lived in a city like Newark (the concrete jungle) or have had your share of life's bumps this book is for you. Each chapter includes a life lesson that the author has coined "brick by brick". The premise of each life lesson is that every decision we make is building the foundation for our future. In the beginning of the book we see how each brick of immorality and scandal was building a life headed for destruction. As the book goes on we can see him building bricks of righteousness, integrity and honor that start transforming his destructive life into the life God has for him. Start building the foundation your future self will thank you for and purchase this book.

It gave me a lot of insight on a mans point of view of growing up without a father and how he survived from the very city, I was born and raised and currently reside in. I took interest in the book, because I heard the author speak during a live show with Tracey Kearny on Periscope. He spoke of his mentor, who is actually actively my aunt and uncle's pastor Bishop Hilliard. So, that's what made me decide to read the book. But, it absolutely was a great read and put some things in perspective for me as a mom raising a son in Newark, who dad is physically their but emotional detached. This book has served as an affirmation of some of the decisions I have made as a mother, by keeping my son's father in his life even though he needs desperate help getting his life on track.
