0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Strong Addition to a Great Series By JordanR I started reading Zachary Rawlins due to the last name connection, but have stuck around as a fan. A shockingly prolific writer he manages to maintain a high level of quality and depth in book after book. The Unknown Kadath series is very much in the vein of Neil Gaiman's early works with its mix of the supernatural and dark comedy. The world created here is a fantastic Lovecraftian place, in particular I'm a fan of his cats. I burned right through this book and highly recommend it..
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Another Great Read By No Principals I think I have read all of Mr. Rawlins' books. So, I am a fan. Until now I have liked the Central Series books the best. But this book is terrific. Not only one of Rawlins' best, but it makes it's prequel better by further developing the story and characters. I whizzed through this one. Though dark (as much of Rawlins' work is), it was fun. Dark fun, does that make sense? This makes Holly Diem my new favorite.

He combines a charming and untrustworthy narrator with a complex plot, fun references to everything lovecraftian and macbre and a beautiful writing style. This book shows the evolution of his word craft as well as having a sharper plot and cleaner product. A great addition to the series and fun to read.
