The H and h had been dating for over 10 years. They were high school sweethearts. They broke up when he accepted a job opportunity in California. They had argued about where they would live. The H’s dreams and ambitions were always more than what his small hometown offered. The h knew he wanted more and did not want to stand in the way of his dreams. The H knew his leaving was a mistake as soon as he left for California.Spoiler *****************************************************Fast forward one year later and it is Christmas once again. The two find themselves sitting next to each other on a flight home. She was returning home after competing on a reality dating show. He was returning home after missing her for a year. The flight and the car ride home was an opportunity for the H to mend and win the h’s heart again. It was also an opportunity for the two to not just talk, but to actually listen to each other and more importantly…understand that home is where the heart is.I enjoyed the story. There could have been more depth to the characters or more flashbacks of their time together in high school or college. I would have also liked more insight of the year they spent apart although the author did a good job with the cliff note version. The heroine could have also been more likeable. She came across as a shrew at times when she was upset with the hero.A recommend for the holidays to get you in the Christmasy mood. I would read another book by the author.

Sam was coming back from appearing on a reality show, her way of trying to get over the heartache of Jase’s leaving her. Jase had finally realized his mistake in leaving and was heading home to try to convince Sam to give him another chance. From her reaction when she saw him on the plane… it was going to be an uphill battle to mend these fences.Home for Christmas is a sweet, uncomplicated story of two people who loved each other, but because of assumptions and lack of communication between them the happy life together they should have had was torn apart. As Sam and Jase make their way home in blizzard conditions, they are forced to face what had gone wrong between them. He assumed, she thought… but they never really talked. So it’s no wonder that when one decision was made for them both – without letting Sam in on the decision making, their relationship blew up in their faces.Jase will do whatever he needs to do in order to have Samantha back in his life. Sam never stopped loving Jase, but a lot is going to have to change before she’ll risk her heart once again. His leaving has shattered her, she couldn’t survive if he did that to her again.I really enjoyed Home for Christmas. It is such a slice of real life. Most often we do assume about each other, or believe we’re making the decision that they would have made anyway so we don’t ask. It’s so easy to fall into that trap, and so difficult to get out of it. With humor, love and understanding Sam and Jase will make their way back home this Christmas. And hopefully back to each other as well.If you love the Hallmark Channel Christmas movies – then this is the perfect story for you. You’ll understand why this couple got into the miscommunications that they did and you’ll also be rooting for them to find their way back to each other. Love Christmas romance, then you’ll love Home for Christmas.

Her heart was broken by her high school sweetheart, who she thought she would be marrying and having her happily ever after with, then she went on a reality dating type show to have been dumped on T.V. She is happily on her way home to White Falls for Christmas to be with her family when she gets to her seat on the plane to find she is sitting next to her high school sweetheart that broke her heart, she is not happy.Jace MacGregor left his true love and White Falls a year ago for L.A. and what he thought would be his dream job. After being there this past year he has been lonely and miserable. The job wasn't really working out. His heart still belonged to Sam and White Falls. He devises his plan to win her back and heads home. When he looks up and sees that Sam will be seated next to him on the plane for the trip home, he is very happy. Until he sees that she is not very happy to see him.This story will take you on the trip these two have to go on to find their way back to White Falls. It is a trip full of sadness, happiness, fun and even some Christmas magic. This was a perfect read for the holidays. It was snarky and sweet and very loving. I have read all of Lizzie Shane's reality based books and they have all been very good, this Christmas one really is fantastic. I recommend it for anyone looking for a sweet little read with big feel good qualities.Home for Christmas (Reality Romance)
