A truly awesome reading from one of the most talented authors of the weird literature. I got the first volume 1 year ago and was so impressed that couldn't wait the second. But... this volume is even more greater and better. The style is lush, exquisite and poetic, with melancholic touch. Maybe it's more serious and deeper than the earlier stories in the first volume. It's dreamy and full of real life and strong emotions in the same time. There's the connection of horror and passion in it, of sadness and love and cosmic awe. All stories are strong and impressive, it's impossible to prefer one to another.There is no chances to read Kiernan's prose in translation by our publishers (despite some stories in horror-antologies), here in Russia - but it's a strong reason to read it by English despite the problem with other languige.

There is a lot of space to write in for each day and every week has a beautiful western picture on the opposite side of the page. There is also a "phone number(s), important dates, overview schedule of each month, and a notes section" at the back of book. And, similarly to the "Cowboy" calendar (also by David Stoecklein), the week day's "font" is in the style of brands! I highly recommend it to anyone who likes David Stoecklein's photography or anyone who needs to stay organized!!

A couple read as though they were poorly translated from another language.On the whole, though, they are interesting​ and thought-provoking.

Excerpt from The Plan of Salvation: Five Lectures Delivered at the Princeton Summer School of Theology June, 1914The subject to which our attention is to be directed in this series of lectures is ordinarily spoken of as "The Plan of Salvation." Its more technical designation is, "The Order of Decrees." And this technical designation has the advantage over the more popular one, of more accurately defining the scope of the subject matter. This is not commonly confined to the processes of salvation itself, but is generally made to include the entire course of the divine dealing with man which ends in his salvation. Creation is not uncommonly comprehended in it, and of course the fall, and the condition of man brought about by the fall. This portion of the subject matter may, however, possibly with some pressure, be looked upon as rather of the nature of a presupposition, than as a substantive part of the subject matter itself; and so no great harm will be done if we abide by the more popular designation. Van Devender "There are fundamentally only two doctrines of salvation: that salvation is from God, and that salvation is from ourselves." This is pretty much Warfield's passion in this book. It is written by an intellectual zealot for the Christian faith and the Reformed Tradition. Warfield's erudition may mean that his modern readers get stretched a bit, but if you want to understand how the various denominational distinctive views on salvation are fundamentally to be understood, this book is where to start.The book is based on a series of lectures, as with Kuyper's Stone Lectures on Calvinism, and are therefore oriented toward an audience inclined to systematic study. The language on the whole is accessible and not overly technical. The lecture format gives the material a "bite-sized" nature which allows for reading in segments rather than having to carry a theme through the whole. All in all, this book will become indispensable to anyone who cares about the doctrines of salvation and needs grounding for their own understanding or for presenting it to others.

What then is God's plan for salvation?These lectures by Warfield present a logical and incisive examination of God's plan of salvation from sin. They provide a valuable tool to a systematic review of the biblical truths to God's plan of salvation.Warfield identifies the vital questions linked with God's plan of salvation. He provides a detailed analysis of the most dangerous answers that men have created to those questions. He outlines the detriment to men's souls and the impact on God's glory which results from those errors.Warfield masterfully states, outlines and dissects the major views of the created's relationship to the Creator. Serious thought about choosing a plan for eternal (that is a long time) life By j perrill There are only two main options- either a plan set out by God or one scrambled together by man. Warfield shows that man's plan actually has lots of religious variations, but not are sufficient. God's plan as set forth in the Bible is clearly sufficient and will stand for eternity. Well worth the time to study the difference in these plans and hopefully trust the good news plan

As evidenced by five Nobel Prizes in physics, radio astronomy in its 80-year history has contributed greatly to our understanding of the universe. Yet for too long, there has been no suitable textbook on radio astronomy for undergraduate students.

Fundamentals of Radio Astronomy: Observational Methods is the first undergraduate-level textbook exclusively devoted to radio astronomy telescopes and observation methods. This book, the first of two volumes, explains the instrumentation and techniques needed to make successful observations in radio astronomy. With examples interspersed throughout and problems at the end of each chapter, it prepares students to contribute to a radio astronomy research team.

Requiring no prior knowledge of astronomy, the text begins with a review of pertinent astronomy basics. It then discusses radiation physics, the collection and detection of astronomical radio signals using radio telescopes, the functioning of various components of radio telescopes, and the processes involved in making successful radio observations. The book also provides a conceptual understanding of the fundamental principles of aperture synthesis and a more advanced undergraduate-level discussion of real-world interferometry observations.

Web ResourceA set of laboratory exercises is available for download on the book’s CRC Press web page. These labs use the Small Radio Telescope (SRT) and the Very Small Radio Telescope (VSRT) developed for educational use by MIT’s Haystack Observatory. The web page also includes a Java package that demonstrates the principles of Fourier transforms, which are needed for the analysis of interferometric data.

About the Author

Jonathan M. Marr is a lecturer of physics and astronomy at Union College. His research involves high-resolution, radio-wavelength observations of radio galaxies and the Galactic center. He earned a PhD in astronomy from the University of California, Berkeley.

Ronald L. Snell is a professor of astronomy at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. His research interests include the physical and chemical properties of molecular clouds, star formation, and molecular outflows; he also has extensive experience observing at radio wavelengths. He earned a PhD in astronomy from the University of Texas at Austin.

Stanley E. Kurtz is a professor of radio astronomy and astrophysics at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. His research interests include massive star formation, the interstellar medium, and radio astronomy instrumentation and techniques. He earned a PhD in physics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.

I've read other books, but this one really gave me the knowledge, built step by step, to a solid understanding of what's going on with everything related to radio astronomy. Like I said, step by step, the concepts, figures, examples and other details get together in a concise way that creates a solid understanding. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in radio astronomy. I thank Mr. Marr for such a good book.
