Lovers Gonna Love… Family isn’t always defined by blood. Sometimes family is born of love… Loyalty… And choice. Sometimes the bond that comes from someone having your back through the shittiest of times is stronger than anything you get from genetics. And sometimes you find that piece of your soul you didn’t even know was missing. I’m a lucky guy like that. I found a love that will never fade. I found a group of people who aren’t just my friends. They’ve become my family. There’s only one place to go from here. I’m gonna bind myself to Rimmel in every possible way. I’m gonna bring our family even closer together. The past has taught me it won’t be easy. Especially when faced with repercussions from a night that ended in death. But that’s okay. Family doesn’t quit each other. Love like ours never dies. Happily ever after isn’t just for storybooks. *this is the final book in the Hashtag Series. It is not a standalone novel*

From the Inside Flap Excerpt from #HeartThe second the car dropped us off in the driveway, I hurried to the front door, fumbling in my bag for the keys. Of course, I dropped my bag, and half the contents spilled out all over the porch. "Whatcha doing over there?" Romeo asked, clear amusement in his voice as he stepped up onto the porch behind me. "You know me," I replied as I tried to scoop up my stuff that was scattered about. "Graceful as ever." His large feet and jean-clad legs appeared before me. I paused in reaching for my ChapStick and smiled a little because of the déjà vu I was experiencing. I craned my neck and looked up his long, muscular body standing over me. He was smiling, and I could tell by the look in his eyes that he was remembering the moment we met as well. He bent down to help me pick up my things, and our hands brushed together as we both reached for the lip balm. I paused and looked up. It was still there. That jolt of electricity, that surge of chemistry right to my heart. Even now that I was wearing his ring, he still affected me like that first day. I hoped it never changed. But unlike that day, he didn't hurry to scoop everything up and stand. Instead, Romeo fell back on his butt and pulled me into his lap. My things still littered the concrete, and the air was cold and brisk. I didn't notice any of it. All I felt was his large, warm body beneath mine. "I should have pulled you into my lap that day," he murmured, stroking my hair out of my face. "I should have looked into your beautiful face and known just how badly I needed you." I pulled my knees closer to my chest, and Romeo wrapped both arms around me, holding me close. "We were from two different worlds," I whispered. "I was out of your league." "No. I was out of yours. But we created our own world, didn't we? A world I wouldn't trade for anything."

Insectivorous Plants (annotated), by Charles Darwin

About the Author Charles Darwin was an English naturalist and author best-known for his revolutionary theories on the origin of species, human evolution, and natural selection. A life-long interest in the natural world led Darwin to neglect his medical studies and instead embark on a five-year scientific voyage on the HMS Beagle, where he established his reputation as a geologist and gathered much of the evidence that fuelled his later theories.A prolific writer, Darwin s most famous published works include The Voyage of the Beagle, On the Origin of Species, The Descent of Man, and Selection in Relation to Sex, and The Expression of Emotions in Man and Animals. Darwin died in 1882, and in recognition of his contributions to science, is buried in Westminster Abbey along with John Herschel and Isaac Newton.

Larenzo's Christmas Baby (One Night With Consequences), by Kate Hewitt

About the Author Kate Hewitt has worked a variety of different jobs, from drama teacher to editorial assistant to youth worker, but writing romance is the best one yet. She also writes women's fiction and all her stories celebrate the healing and redemptive power of love. Kate lives in a tiny village in the English Cotswolds with her husband, five children, and an overly affectionate Golden Retriever.

Excerpt. © Reprinted by permission. All rights reserved. The sound of the car door slamming echoed through the still night. Emma Leighton looked up from the book she'd been reading in surprise; as housekeeper of Larenzo Cavelli's isolated retreat in the mountains of Sicily, she hadn't been expecting anyone. Larenzo was in Rome on business, and no one came to the villa perched high above Sicily's dusty hill towns and villages. Her employer liked his privacy. She heard brisk footsteps on the stone path that led to the villa's front door, an enormous thing of solid oak banded with iron. She tensed, waiting for a knock; the villa had an elaborate security system with a numbered code that was only known by her and Larenzo, and the door was locked, as Larenzo always insisted. She held her breath as she heard the creak of the door opening and then the beep of buttons being pressed, followed by a longer beeping indicating the security system had been deactivated. As her heart did a queasy little flip, Emma tossed her book aside and rose from her chair. Larenzo never came back early or unexpectedly. He always texted her, to make sure she had everything ready for his arrival: his bed made with freshly ironed sheets, the fridge stocked, the pool heated. But if it wasn't him…who was it?She heard footsteps coming closer, a heavy, deliberate tread, and then a figure, tall and rangy, appeared in the doorway.'Larenzo—' Emma pressed one hand to her chest as she let out a shaky laugh of relief. 'You scared me. I wasn't expecting you.''I wasn't expecting to come here.' He stepped into the spacious sitting room of the villa, and as the lamplight washed over his face Emma sucked in a shocked breath. Larenzo's skin looked grey, and there were deep shadows under his eyes. His hair was rumpled, as if he'd driven his hand through the ink-dark strands.'Are you—are you all right?'His mouth twisted in a grim smile. 'Why, do I not look all right?''No, not really.' She tried to lighten her words with a smile, but she really was alarmed. In the nine months she'd been Larenzo's housekeeper, she'd never seen him look like this, not just tired or haggard, but as if the life force that was so much a part of who he was, that restless, rangy energy and charisma, had drained away.'Are you ill?' she asked. 'I can get you something…''No. Not ill.' He let out a hollow laugh. 'But clearly I must look terrible.''Well, as a matter of fact, yes, you do.''Thank you for your honesty.''Sorry—''Don't be. I can't bear lies.' A sudden, savage note had entered his voice, making Emma blink. Larenzo crossed the room to the liquor cabinet in the corner. 'I need a drink.'She watched as he poured himself a large measure of whisky and then tossed it back in one burning swallow. His back was to her, the silk of his suit jacket straining against his shoulders and sinewy back. He was an attractive man, a beautiful man even, with his blue-black hair and piercing grey eyes, his tall, powerful body always encased in three-thousand-euro suits.Emma had admired his form the way you admired Michelangelo's David, as a work of art. She had decided when she'd taken this job that she wasn't going to make the mistake of developing some schoolgirl crush on her boss. Larenzo Cavelli was out of her league. Way, way out of her league. And, if the tabloids were true, he had a different woman on his arm and in his bed every week.'I wasn't expecting you until the end of the month,' she said.'I had a change of plans.' He took out the stopper in the crystal decanter of whisky and poured himself another healthy measure. 'Obviously.'She didn't press the point, because, while they'd developed a fairly amicable working relationship over the last nine months, he was still her boss. She couldn't actually say she knew Larenzo Cavelli. Since she'd taken the job as housekeeper he'd come to the villa only three times, never more than for a couple of days. He mostly lived in Rome, where he kept an apartment, or travelled for work as CEO of Cavelli Enterprises.'Very well,' she finally said. 'Will you be staying long?'He drained his glass for a second time. 'Probably not.''Well, the night at least,' she answered briskly. She didn't know what was going on with Larenzo, whether it was a business deal gone bust or a love affair gone bad, or something else entirely, but she could still do her job. 'The sheets on your bed are clean. I'll go switch the heating on for the pool.''Don't bother,' Larenzo answered. He put his empty glass on the table with a clink. 'There's no need.''It's no trouble,' Emma protested, and Larenzo shrugged, his back to her.'Fine. Maybe I'll have one last swim.'His words replayed through her mind as she left him and walked through the spacious, silent rooms of the villa to the back door that led to a brick terrace overlooking the mountains, a teardrop-shaped pool as its impressive centrepiece. One last swim. Was he planning on leaving, on selling the villa?Emma gazed out at the Nebrodi mountains and shivered slightly, for the air still held a pine-scented chill. All was quiet save for the rustling of the wind high up in the trees. Larenzo's villa was remote, miles from the nearest market town, Troina; in the daylight Emma could see its terracotta-tiled houses and shops nestled in the valley below. She went there several times a week to shop and socialise; she had a couple of friends amidst the Sicilian shopkeepers and matrons. If Larenzo was planning on selling the villa, she'd miss living here. She never stayed anywhere long, and she would have probably started feeling restless in a few months anyway, but… She glanced once more at the night-cloaked hills and valleys, the mellow stone of the villa perched on its hill gleaming in the moonlight. She liked living here. It was peaceful, with plenty of subjects to photograph. She'd be sad to leave, if it came to that. But maybe Larenzo just meant a swim before he left for Rome again. She switched on the heating and then turned to go inside; as she turned a shadowy form loomed up in front of her and her breath came out in a short gasp. She must have swayed or stumbled a little, for Larenzo put his hands on her shoulders to steady her. They stood like that for a moment in the doorway, his strong hands curling around her shoulders so she could feel the warmth of his palms through the thin cotton of her T-shirt, and how her heart pounded beneath it. She didn't think he'd ever actually touched her before. She moved one way, and he moved another, so it was almost as if they were engaged in a struggle or an awkward dance. Then Larenzo dropped his hands from her shoulders and stepped back.'Scusi.''My fault,' she murmured, her heart still thudding, and moved quickly through the kitchen to flick on the lights. Bathed in a bright electric glow, things felt more normal, even if she could still feel the imprint of his hands on her shoulders, so warm and strong. 'So.' She turned to him with a quick smile, a brisk look. 'Have you eaten? I can make you something.'He looked as if he was about to refuse, and then he shrugged. 'Why not? I'll go change while you cook.''What would you like to eat?'Another shrug as he turned away. 'Whatever you make will be fine.'She watched him disappear down the hallway, her lips pursed in an uncertain frown. She'd never seen Larenzo like this. Not that they'd actually had that much conversation, beyond discussing pool maintenance and house repairs. But even when talking about such mundane matters, Larenzo Cavelli had exuded a compelling charisma and energy, a life force. He was a man who, when entering a room, made everyone turn and take notice. Men tried to suppress their envy, and women undressed him with their eyes. Emma counted herself as wilfully immune to the man's magnetic vitality, but its absence now made her uneasy. Her frown deepening, Emma opened the fridge and stared at the few items inside. She always did a big shop right before Larenzo arrived; she bought all the ingredients for gourmet meals for one and made them for him to eat alone, usually out on the terrace overlooking the mountains. Now she glanced askance at the half-dozen eggs, a few slices of pancetta and the end of a wedge of cheese that comprised the entire contents of the fridge. With a sigh she took it all out. A bacon and cheese omelette it was.She was just sliding it onto a plate when Larenzo came downstairs, dressed now in faded jeans and a grey T-shirt, his hair damp and spiky from a shower. She'd seen him casually dressed before, many times, but for some reason now, perhaps because of how different Larenzo seemed, her heart gave a weird little flip and she felt awareness shiver over her skin. Clearly he still possessed some of that charisma and vitality, for she felt the force of it now.'Sorry it's just an omelette,' she said. 'I'll do a big shop tomorrow.''That won't be necessary.''But—'"Aren't you going to join me?' He arched an eyebrow, nodding towards the single plate she'd laid out, a challenge simmering in his eyes.In the handful of times he'd been at the villa, Larenzo had never asked her to eat with him. The two of them alone on the terrace would have been awkward, intimate, and Emma happily ate leftovers in the kitchen, one of her photography books propped against the salt and pepper shakers.'Um…I've already eaten,' she said after a second's pause. It had to be past ten o'clock at night.'Come have a glass of wine. I don't feel like being alone.'Was that a command? Emma shrugged her assent; she wouldn't mind a glass of wine, and perhaps Larenzo would tell her what was going on.'Okay,' she said, and she fetched two glasses while Larenzo selected a bottle of red wine from the rack above the sink. While Larenzo took his plate of eggs out to the terrace, Emma retrieved her sweater from the sitting room, slipping her arms through the sleeves as she stepped outside. The moon was high and full above the pine-blanketed hills, the Nebrodi range's highest peak, Mount Soro, piercing the night sky. Larenzo was already seated at a table overlooking the pool, the water glimmering in the moonlight, but he rose as Emma came forward with the two glasses and proffered the bottle of wine. She nodded her assent and sat down while he poured.'This is very civilised,' she said as she accepted the glass.'Yes, isn't it?' Larenzo answered. 'Well, let's enjoy it while we can.' He raised his glass in a toast and Emma lifted hers as well before taking a sip. The wine was rich and velvety-smooth, clearly expensive, but she put her glass down after one sip and gave her boss as direct a look as she could.'You're sure everything is all right?''As right as it can be,' Larenzo answered, taking a sip of wine.'What does that mean?'He set his glass down and stretched his legs out in front of him. 'Exactly that. But I don't want to talk about myself, not tonight. For a few hours I'd just like to forget.'Forget what? Emma wondered, but clearly Larenzo didn't want her to ask.'You've been my housekeeper for nearly a year and I don't really know the first thing about you,' he continued, and Emma stared at him in surprise.'You want to talk about me?''Why not?''Because…well, because you've never expressed an interest in knowing anything about me before. And actually, I'm quite a boring person.'He smiled, his teeth gleaming in the darkness. 'Let me be the judge of that.'Emma shook her head slowly. This evening was becoming almost surreal. 'What do you want to know?' 'Where did you grow up?'An innocuous enough question, she supposed. 'Everywhere, really. I was a diplomat's kid.''I think I remember you mentioning that in your interview.' He'd interviewed her in Rome, where she'd been working as a chambermaid in a hotel, just one in a string of jobs she'd had as she moved from city to city, exploring the world and taking photographs.'And you haven't minded being stuck up here in the hills of Sicily?' he asked, his wine glass raised to his lips.'All by yourself?'She shrugged. 'I'm used to being on my own.' And she preferred it that way. No ties, no obligations, no disappointments. The occasional bout of loneliness was not too high a price to pay for that kind of freedom.'Even so.''You obviously like it,' she pointed out. 'Since you own this place.''Yes, but I travel and spend time in cities. I'm not up here all the time.''Well, as I said, I like it.' For now, anyway. She never remained anywhere for too long, always preferring to move on, to find new experiences, and from the sceptical look on Larenzo's face he seemed to guess a bit of her natural wanderlust.'Have you met anyone up here?' he asked. 'Made friends?' 'A few people down in Troina.' 'That's something, I suppose. What do you do for fun up here?'Emma shrugged. 'Walk. Swim. Read. I'm easily entertained, fortunately.''Yes.' He gazed out at the mountains and Emma had the sense he was thinking about something else, something painful.'But it's not the kind of job you'd stay in for ever,' he said at last.'Are you trying to get rid of me?' she asked lightly. She'd meant it as a joke but Larenzo took the question seriously.'No, definitely not. But if something were to happen…' He trailed off, his gaze still on the hills, and Emma set down her wine glass.'Larenzo, are you thinking of selling this place?''Not selling it, no.''But something,' she pressed. 'What's going on, really? Do I need to start looking for another job?'He let out a long, low breath and raked his hands through his hair. 'Whatever happens, I'll make sure to give you a good reference.''What are you talking about, whatever happens?' Emma shook her head. 'I don't understand you.''I know, and I don't want to explain it now. It will all become clear soon enough.' He nodded towards the pool. 'How about a swim?''A swim?' Emma glanced at the pool, the water glimmering in the moonlight. 'It's a bit cold for me.''Not for me,' he said, and she watched in amazement as he stripped off his shirt and jeans and, clad only in his boxer shorts, dived into the pool. The splash echoed through the still air and Emma watched, shivering slightly, as Larenzo swam the length of the pool before surfacing and slicking back the wet hair from his face.'Come in,' he called. 'The water's lovely.'Emma shook her head. 'I only just turned the heating on. It's got to be freezing.''Even so.' He arched an eyebrow, his mouth curling in a smile that was pure temptation. Emma's gaze was inexorably drawn to his bare chest, all lean, rippling muscle, his bronzed skin beaded with water. 'Dare you.'Emma hadn't thought this evening could get any more surreal. But swimming with her boss in a freezing pool?'Come on, Emma.' He held out his hand. 'Just jump in.' Heat simmered in his eyes and she felt an answering stab of lust through her middle. This was so foolish, so dangerous, and yet…the sight of Larenzo in the pool, nearly naked with moonlight streaming over his body and droplets of water twinkling like diamonds on his bronzed skin, was hard to resist. And already this evening felt separate from reality, a time apart.'Chicken?' he taunted, his eyes and teeth glinting in the darkness, and Emma laughed.'You really want to get me in that pool.''I want someone to swim with.'Excitement licked through her veins. She didn't think Larenzo was coming on to her; he never had before. And yet.'Fine,' she said, and, shrugging off her sweater, she dived fully clothed into the deep end.She surfaced, sucking in a hard breath, because the water really was cold. 'And now I'm getting out,' she told him as she trod water. 'It's as freezing as I thought it would be.''I didn't think you'd do it,' he said, laughter threading his voice, and Emma was glad that she'd managed to distract him from whatever had been bothering him, even if she got hypothermia in the process.'You thought wrong,' she said, and swam towards the edge of the pool. With her wet clothes weighing her down it was hard to haul herself up on the pool's edge. And then she felt Larenzo behind her, his hands on her shoulders, the strength and heat of him just inches from her back. She sucked in a shocked breath as he slid his hands to her waist and helped her up.

When he finds he has a daughter he wants her as part of his life but so many dark shadows envelope him and happiness seems somet By dropsydot Larenzo Cavelli arrives home earlier than expected and his housekeeper Emma Leighton notices he seems distracted and upset over something. Trying to help him through an apparent difficult evening one thing leads to another and before the night is over she shares his bed only to awaken to police arresting Larenzo. She finds he is charged with being part of a Mafia and a sting operation that would put him in prison for life. After much interrogation Emma leaves and runs to her friend in New York where she finds out she if pregnant . A little more than a year later Larenzo shows up at her door. When he finds he has a daughter he wants her as part of his life but so many dark shadows envelope him and happiness seems something he can never have. The book is such a wonderful story that I will not give away any more of it. Find out why Larenzo was put in prison and how it all turns out, a wonderful book.

Of late I have gobbled up a few of Kate Hewitt's novels and you can bet I'll be reading more.In 'Larenzo's Christmas Baby' our hero, Larenzo Cavelli, is a gorgeous, single businessman who is a playboy extraordinaire. It seems he has a different beauty on his arm (and in his bed) every week.Emma is our heroine and she's Larenzo's housekeeper at his mountain home. She has rarely seen him but a handful of times and he always gives her notice when he’s arriving so she can have the house prepared just as he likes it. Emma is shocked and surprised when she hears someone enter the house. Larenzo was a day early. She immediately knew something was wrong as he looked disheveled and very sad, reflective. They spent the evening together and when neither could sleep they found comfort in each other’s arms. A few hours later the police arrived to arrest Larenzo and said they had enough evidence to connect him to the mob and he would spend the rest of his life in prison.A year and a half later he was exonerated and set free. First on his to do list was to find Emma. The surprise was on him when he went to see her and heard a baby crying upstairs as she was quickly trying to get him out the door. Funny thing...that baby looked exactly like him...down to the dimpled chin. Lucy...you got some slainin’ to do!!Both of these characters had a rough past. Neither felt wanted as a child/teen. They each had a lot to work through before they could work on them as a couple.***As a side note there was no cheating or womanizing in this book. Larenzo was introduced as a playboy but that happened prior to the beginning of the book. I was so glad about that.I highly recommend this book. I enjoyed every moment of it and struggled to put it down long enough to let the dog out the back door.

Currently, the health of over half the adult population in the UK suffers because of fat. The UK is not alone: obesity is a global problem, but the populations of some countries are heavier than others. This book probes the chemistry of fat in our bodies, providing a unique insight into understanding obesity, and how this material becomes accumulated to cause obesity with particular emphasis on the contribution of nutrition beyond calories. It visits the current hot topic of the genetic origins of obesity and progresses through to the relatively under publicised field of epigenetics, emphasising its importance to understanding the current epidemic. Coming in the wake of the establishment of international collaborations, the book aims to quantify the extent of the contribution of nutritional deficiencies to body weight gain. Yet even before these studies begin some important links have been identified and the molecular mechanisms by which they induce obesity have been mapped. This information reveals a serious problem for the next generation, but it is expected to provide the necessary information to tackle the obesity epidemic. Based on an extensive review of scientific literature, this topical book is written in a way that is accessible to the non-specialist. Suitable for the general public, the principal focus of the book is to advance the public understanding and awareness of science through the high interest subject of obesity. However, many universities recommend public understanding of science texts to students as a means of broadening general knowledge and as a means to emphasise to students the importance of communicating their research to the public. This book will be instrumental in developing this knowledge.

About the Author Claire Allardyce graduated in 1993 from the University of St Andrews, Fife, with a degree in Biochemistry and Biotechnology and then proceeded to do a PhD expecting this to start her career in rational drug design. During the course of her research, Claire became increasingly interested in how nutrition affected treatment, for example, the role of folic acid in decreasing the efficacy of certain anticancer drugs and the increased power of detoxification pathways after eating Brussels sprouts. Eventually her interest diverged towards presenting scientific findings to the general public, in particular, the chemistry of obesity.

How suprising to think that the vitamin mega doses we all think do us good may actually be causing harm!

The Ballards live in the shadow of July Mountain. They are one step shy of overcoming the taint of poverty dogging the family since the Great Depression. During the excess of the modern 1980s, the Tennessee Valley still harbors a passing respect for the unexplainable and superstition. Roots cling to family trees like tendrils that tangle and tear to claim, not just birthrights, but bloodrights. Folks tend to die around Little Debbie Ballard. She struggles to make sense of a world where the unspoken past and prejudice collide, where truth is no longer as simple as Daddy's word, and cruel intentions transcend generations. Debbie must face the insidious legacy that haunts the women of her family, one by one. How does a family escape a past that refuses to die?

No spoilers here as I wouldn't want to ruin the experience of this story for anyone else who is fortunate enough to get a copy By Mary Andrews I'll be honest. I judge a book by the cover. I know I shouldn't, but get over it. No spoilers here as I wouldn't want to ruin the experience of this story for anyone else who is fortunate enough to get a copy. The cover drew me in initially. As a little girl I had a favorite oak tree in my back yard like Deb. Then I opened the cover and began to read about GodLutherYouStink I laughed out loud. It is the perfect name for an outside dog. That right there had me hooked. At times her writing reminded me of Stephen King in how descriptive she was during a few gruesome accidents. Just the right amount of suspense, laughter, shock, anguish, and tears to keep a reader turning the pages. I loved her style and humor. Hope this is the just the beginning of more books to come from this author.

The book was so enthralling that I could hardly put it down. The characters are believable to the extent that as I read I felt as though I knew the family. Immersed in superstition nursed by her baby-sitter, Little Deb spent much of her childhood in the shelter of her tree, safe from the whispers. I felt distress for the little girl who seemed to be ignored by her mother, mistreated by her babysitter, and sternly handled by her father. Would things get better for the little girl? I had to know...While reading, I suddenly realized that I was watching the lives of the Ballard family unfold...so what does that have to do with Clemenceau? Just as the thought comes to mind, the plot shifted and took me to another time...and the Clemenceau's. Everything began to fit and I could hardly read fast enough to find out what would happen next.As the plot climaxed, I could only think, "NO, the story can't end now!" My question of Rocky Moore is "does it?" What happens to Deborah now? Will she reclaim that which is rightfully hers? I have to know... Clemenceau's Daughters

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Thriller-read with Exquisite Writing By R. Burton Author of The Burgundy Briefcase Rocky Porch Moore’s debut gothic novel, CLEMENCEAU'S DAUGHTERS is literary fiction at its finest. The characters are complicated and struggling with their own demons. Moore’s descriptions are lyrical even while describing horror. I will not give away this complicated plot involving a young girl grappling to find the meanings of events in her life. As someone born in Appalachia, studied in the mountains of North Carolina, and lives in North Florida where legends abound, Moore’s world is believable. And as a therapist who has participated in family sculptures, where one becomes a family member to the person who has requested the sculpture, the ability to pick up on the emotional glue that follows the ancestral line down through the generations is what Moore has shown the reader. I would recommend CLEMENCEAU'S DAUGHTERS to anyone who wants a thriller-read with exquisite writing. For an author, it is a book to be studied as well as enjoyed.Note: an advanced copy was provided this reader for an honest review

The good news is the most gorgeous cowboy I've ever seen is moving in next door to me. The bad news? He's not alone. Hanging on his arm is a very pregnant woman. Are they a couple? It sure looks like they are. So not only is he not gay, but he also has a girlfriend, or a wife, or whatever. Just my luck. **** 21-year old Trace Cotton is an artist who never shows his paintings to anyone. When cowboy Luke Wagner moves into Mockingbird Place with a very pregnant Ava, Trace believes he must fight his attraction to Luke since he’s taken. When Ava collapses outside Trace’s apartment, he comes to her rescue. Things aren’t what they seem on the surface, but when Trace finds out the truth will it be too late for a chance at something real with Luke? Warning: contains hot showers with singing, two sexy men kissing, and sexual situations taking place in a 10-unit Mediterranean complex filled with college-aged hotties.

By Dana Busenbark This story in the series deals with Luke and Ava who move into Unit E of Mockingbird Place. It also includes Trace and Jackson from next door. There are some seriously messed up vibes between Trace and Luke at the beginning, about Luke's relationship with Ava. Especially after Trace sees the photographs in the hallway. Can they get past that? The Marine in Unit A and Oliver get married, and right after they're married, Ava goes into labor. What happens with that? What happens when Luke and Trace are out one evening enjoying a meal and a football mate of Trace's from when he was 13 walks in? What does Luke do for Trace and the others? I'm not going to say too much more about this, but if you have not read the Marine in Unit A, read that one first, then read this one so it all makes more sense! Just be prepared for one hell of a cliff hanger at the end of this one. I cannot wait for the third book to come out in 2016 now!RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin' With M.Brennan.

If you read the first book, The Marine in Unit A, then you are familiar with the residents that live there and what a joy they are to visit.Ava and Luke are moving into Unit A and to everyone watching from the distance it appears that they are a loving, married couple and are expecting a baby very soon. However, everything is not as it appears and one tenant gets started on the wrong foot when Luke does a little flirting.Trace is attracted to Luke as soon as he sees him and wants to make a move. When he sees a photo of Luke and Ava at a wedding, their own, he is devastated and leaves without allowing Luke to explain.Trace is an artist and painting is not only his passion but it's therapy. Still suffering from a childhood trauma he can't find it within himself to show his work to anyone, saying that it is his therapy and can't be shared.Jackson, Trace's best friend and roommate understands and supports Trace with his art, but he thinks Trace needs to talk to Luke and find out his story. He knows how bad Trace wants to find someone to love and the cute cowboy across the hall is definitely giving some interested signals. This story is a sweet and emotional journey for the characters as well as the reader. There are some very important issues that are addressed and the author allows the characters to work it out in their own pace. There is a lot of love at Mockingbird Place and I love how all of the neighbors come together to help each other out. They are always there for each other regardless of the situation. The Cowboy in Unit E is an enjoyable, fast-paced story with little angst but with lots of emotion and affection. We meet new characters, we get to see characters from the previous book get their moment that we've all been waiting to see, and we are introduced to the characters in the next book.Mockingbird Place is quickly becoming a familiar hangout where you can curl up on the couch, grab a cup of coffee, and visit with old friends for the day. As the new tenants are brought into the family dynamic we are able to laugh with them and share in their joy and love. And, there will be a few surprises that you don't want to miss. Each book, in my opinion, can be read as a standalone, however knowing the history of Mockingbird Place, what it means to most of the people living there is very important and shouldn't be missed.

Love the Residents at Mockingbird Place By Robin Powers Trace is an art major at college which causes some problems since he has high anxiety about anyone seeing his paintings. Cowboy Luke just moved into Mockingbird Place with a very pregnant Ava. When Luke hits on Trace, sparks fly but Trace isn’t about to start something with someone already in a relationship. With all kinds of obstacles, will Trace find love and be able to share his talent?“He knows me better than anyone. It’s hard for me when my emotions are so strong. I feel exposed.‘Come on, Trace. Let me in. Please.’I take a deep breath. ‘Fine. The a**hole kissed me.’‘What a**hole? Luke?’‘Yes, Luke. Can you believe it? The minute Ava is out of sight he starts flirting with me.’ I recount everything that happened. ‘So you see why I’m livid.’”In Mocking Bird Place Book 2, we encounter more people having a rough time. Luke and Ava have just been through a tragedy and are still recovering. Luke also went through a very traumatic experience. I was touched at how the three of them worked together to help each other heal. We also continue to see how strong of a family unit the residents at Mockingbird Place are. This series is very sweet, and I love the interactions between the neighbors. I always get a lot of warm and fuzzy feels when I read this series. If you also enjoy M/M, check out this cowboy’s love story and find out what’s going on with the quirky residents at Mockingbird Place. I know I’ll continue checking in with them and reading about what Jackson is up to in the next book.

By Zoltan Istvan In Brighter Brains, Hank Pellissier has brought together a lot of useful information about the brain that most people just don't know. The book is filled with many great ideas on how to improve and hurt IQ. In the age where neuroscience has discovered the plasticity of our brains, a book like this is important and fascinating reading.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. the book is allright but too great By Amazon Customer The book is informative but it could have been better. It has some good information but its lacking a clear description about how to increase your IQ. It is like a research paper on IQ, I wouldn't call it a real book. Anyway for the price, you can't beat the info. Hope that helps.
